When should I schedule my baby's first pediatrician visit?
Ideally, your baby's first visit should occur within 3 to 5 days after birth. This helps check weight, feeding, neonatal jaundice, and general health. For NICU graduates, Dr. Zahoor will provide a specialized follow-up schedule.
What vaccinations are required in the first year?
We follow Indian Academy of Pediatrics and WHO guidelines. Core vaccines include BCG, OPV, and Hepatitis B at birth, followed by DTwP/DTaP, IPV, Hib, Hep B, Rotavirus, and Pneumococcal vaccines at 6, 10, and 14 weeks. A detailed personalized vaccination card is provided.
When is a child's fever a pediatric emergency?
In infants under 3 months, fever of 100.4°F / 38°C or higher should be treated as an emergency. In older children, urgent care is needed if fever comes with lethargy, continuous vomiting, breathing difficulty, stiff neck, or lasts more than 3 days.
Do you offer consultations for ADHD, obesity, or adolescent issues?
Yes. Dr. Zahoor provides adolescent health consultations, including developmental assessments for ADHD and Autism Spectrum concerns, plus structured nutrition and lifestyle management for childhood obesity.
